Praise is to Allah (s. w. t), may His peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah who was the most eloquent in speech.
Allah SWT says in the Holy Qur’an:
” وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلافُ أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَانِكُمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّلْعَالِمِينَ “
“And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the difference of your languages and colors. Verily, these are Signs for the men of sound knowledge.” (AL-Roman:22).
The Almighty God (Allah) has distinguished human beings by giving them the ability of language to express their diverse purposes, and exchange their interests. Since there is no other way for them to communicate in their local communities and international gatherings except through language. Among the international popular languages of the world are English, Arabic, French, etc.
The status of these languages, hasten a lot of people to learn for different purposes, be it religious, academic, economic, social, cultural, political, diplomatic, tourist, security, and many more.
In recognition of Al-Madinah International University the great role of the international languages in human communication and peaceful coexistence, the University has established Language Centre to prepare the placement exams in modern languages, and to linguistically prepare students to join the faculties of Al-Madinah International University. Among its goals is to prepare modern teaching languages for general public and specific academic purposes, researches and field studies in teaching modern languages, and also to design new curriculums, textbooks, and language courses driven by market demand based on the modern trend of teaching international languages.
The Centre of Preparatory Studies and Languages has various programs including Arabic as a Foreign Language, English Language Courses, IELTS, TOEFL and MUET Courses for preparing students for the TOEFL test. Other programs will be introduced soonest in order to achieve the goal of the university whereby everyone will have the right to education anytime and anywhere at their own convenience.
Students can learn these programs on campus directly with the lecturer or by using the Advance Learning Information Management System (ALIM) connected to the internet, and can also do self-learning through CD-ROMs and traditional text books, in order to provide knowledge in a sustainable way at any time
