The month of Ramadan has always been the special month for the believers due to the numerous amount of virtues. Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) Centre of Preparatory Studies and Language (CPSL) took this opportunity to share the joy of giving by organizing a Community Service-Learning for Rohingya Refugee on Wednesday, 29 May 2019. The event was held at Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Al-Ikhwaniah, Puchong Batu 12, Selangor where the teaching and learning of the children takes place .

Forty Mediu students from various faculties were involved in volunteering activity under the coordinator of the Community Service-Learning Program, Puan Siti Nurbaini binti Ishak. They facilitated a range of activities according to the Rohinya refugees age group, such as conducting self-motivation talk, colouring Hari Raya posters, team-building activity and lastly ‘Duit Raya’ giveaway. Our students had successfully collected some food and funds for the school. The donation was handed out to the founder and principal of the Maahad, Ustaz Sayed Mohammad.

This project is hoped to encourage our students to give back to the community and raise awareness of the issues affecting refugees. Providing help to the unfortunate refugees will ignite change and positively give a sense of hope to them.
